RCB Retained and Released Players: On Saturday, November 15, all ten IPL teams shared the names of the players they want to keep and the players they want to let go. They also confirmed a few trade moves. This update is important because every team now starts to rebuild their squad for the IPL 2026 season, which begins in March next year. The list also works like an early step before the IPL 2026 auction report that will come soon.

The auction will take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a simple job this year because they won the IPL trophy for the first time last season.

Mumbai Indians IPL 2026 Squad: Predicted Release & Retention List

Head coach Andy Flower was happy to have retained the core of the team. He said: “We have been able to retain a really strong squad with, obviously, a great recent history of playing winning cricket and playing some outstanding cricket. I feel for the players that we are releasing, because I am pretty sure they loved the experience as much as I did last year. Of course, we will look to strengthen our squad, but in saying that, we are comfortable with retaining a strong base and a strong core of the team and the squad. So, there is less movement than there was in the big auction last year.

“There is a lot of cricket between now and the auction itself. There is a SMAT (Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy) tournament that is almost going to be completed by the time the auction happens, and obviously a lot of cricket before the next IPL. We will be watching intently and growing our understanding of the players that we work really closely with.” reported Sportstar.
