The Chinese tech behemoth shared a tweet on X (previously Twitter) that confirmed the Redmi 12 5G’s global release date. The device will be announced first on the Indian market, and a new microsite will be launched on the company’s main website. According to the teaser, the new smartphone will “Join the 5G Revolution.” The tweet also includes a brief video displaying the Redmi 12 5G from the side.

According to our current knowledge, the smartphone will have a planar rear panel and sides. It will also be available in a variety of colours, such as Moonstone Silver, Pastel Blue, and Jade Black. Redmi 12 5G has recently been spotted on GeekBench sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. This processor was coupled with 8GB of RAM, and Android 13 was listed as the device’s operating system.
Other storage options may include a 6GB + 128GB configuration priced at approximately 13,999 INR. The global variant of the Redmi 12 5G is anticipated to be a rebranded version of the Chinese-only Redmi Note 12R. In addition to this model, the company is preparing to release the Redmi 12 4G, Redmi Watch 3 Active, and Xiaomi Smart TV X Series in India.
