RSS ideologue has made a recommendation to NCERT which had sought suggestions from the public on reviewing school textbooks. The reviewing would consist of removing English, Urdu and Arabic words, the thoughts of Rabindranath Tagore and Gujarat riots time.

Rabindranath Tagore was a renowned poet and scholar. Tagore modernised Bengali art by spurning rigid classical forms and resisting linguistic structures. His novels, stories, songs, dance-dramas, and essays spoke to topics political and personal. He reshaped Bengali literature and music, as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Since many years his works, poems, and stories are included in the school text book.
