Royal Enfield to go electric: Royal Enfield, the foremost mid-segment motorcycle manufacturer in the world, unveiled its concept electric vehicles and revealed the Himalayan 452, its flagship model, at EICMA 2023, the premier event for the motorcycle industry worldwide, in Milan, Italy. The newly developed Himalayan 452 is an offroad vehicle that significantly surpasses the Himalayan 411.
Royal Enfield, a motorcycle manufacturer, unveiled the Himalayan EV concept bike and removed the coverings from the Himalayan 452 at EICMA 2023 in Italy, which was held in New Delhi. According to Autocar, the electric bicycle will presumably be in ADV format. This will be developed in collaboration with the Spanish division of Royal Enfield, Stark.
Autocar reported that the Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer has appointed Mario Alvisi, a former Ducati employee, as chief growth officer for the EV segment and allocated Rs 1,500 crore for the development of its EV portfolio.
