Sahal Abdul Samad is an Indian football professional. On 1 April 1997, he was born in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, to a Malayali family originally from Kavvayi, Payyanur, in the Kannur district. Sahal attended the New Indian Model School in Al Ain for his education. In 2010, he joined the Al Ethihad Sports Academy for football training at the professional level. Then, he relocated to Kerala to complete his Bachelor’s degree at S.N. Kannur College, and to play university football.

During his degree, he performed well at university-level tournaments and was invited to join the district Under-21 category; subsequently, he was selected for the 2017 Santosh Trophy by the Kerala Team. Soon after, he was able to sign a contract with the Kerala Blasters. Initially, he was on the I-League 2nd Division reserve list for 2017-2018. Later, during the 2018-2019 season, Sahal achieved his breakthrough by defeating ATK 2-0.

Then, on 15 February 2019, he played against Chennaiyin, where he demonstrated his passing ability and 688 touches for the season. Then, he won ISL Emerging Player of the Season, after which he was named AIFF Emerging Player of the Year. On May 11, 2019, Sahal extended his contract with the Kerala Blasters until 2022. Later in 2020, he became the club’s face and signed a contract with the Kerala Blasters until 2025. Soon, he made 14 appearances out of 28 opportunities and was named the match’s MVP against East Bengal and Jamshedpur. Sahal scored six goals against Delhi F.C., ATK Mohun Bagan, Chennaiyin, Jamshedpur, and Mumbai City from 2021 to 2022.
