Kamada Ekadashi 2023: Kamada Ekadashi is a Hindu festival observed on the eleventh day of the Chaitra lunar month. This celebration is also known as Paapamochani Ekadashi, which translates to “day of sin-eradication.” Kamada Ekadashi occurs during the spring season, which is a favourable time to observe fasts and perform religious rituals.
On this day, Lord Vishnu devotees observe a strict fast and perform puja (worship) to seek the lord’s blessings. The fast is observed from sunrise on Ekadashi until sunrise the following morning. During this period, devotees abstain from eating and drinking.
It is believed that the Kamada Ekadashi ritual can purge one’s sins and help them attain Moksha (salvation). Lord Vishnu is believed to grant wishes to those who observe this fast with complete devotion and sincerity.

Kamada Ekadashi Rituals:
On the day of Kamada Ekadashi, devotees rise early and bathe. They then pray to Lord Vishnu and fast for the remainder of the day. Devotees read the Kamada Ekadashi story, which describes the festival’s significance.
Evening aarti (the ritual of waving a lit lamp in front of the deity) and food offerings to Lord Vishnu are performed by devotees. In addition, they present fruits and flowers as a sign of their devotion. The fast is broken the following day by consuming food and water.
