Samsung One UI 9.0 Release Date: Samsung has started testing One UI 9 on the Galaxy S26 series. The new software runs on Android 17 and gives users an early look at Samsung’s next major phone update.
Samsung officially announced the beta on May 12, 2026. The company first opened it to Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra users in selected countries. People who join the programme can try the new tools before Samsung sends the finished update to everyone.
The beta mainly brings changes to Samsung Notes, Contacts, the Quick Panel, accessibility tools and phone security. Samsung also plans to add more advanced AI features when the full One UI 9 experience arrives on new flagship Galaxy devices later in 2026.

One UI 9 Beta Countries and Supported Phones
Samsung has officially opened the One UI 9 beta in these countries:
- Germany
- India
- South Korea
- Poland
- United Kingdom
- United States
Samsung has officially confirmed the beta only for the Galaxy S26 series. The beta may reach more Galaxy phones later, but Samsung has not yet shared a complete list or fixed dates for other devices. Support can also change by country, mobile network and phone model.
How to Join the One UI 9 Beta?
Eligible Galaxy S26 users can join the test through the Samsung Members app.
- Open the Samsung Members app on the phone.
- Sign in with a Samsung Account.
- Look for the One UI Beta Programme banner or beta card.
- Tap the banner and complete the registration.
- Open the phone’s Settings app.
- Go to Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
Samsung recommends backing up important files before installing the beta. Test software may contain bugs or other problems. It may also cause apps to crash or lead to lost data. Samsung suggests using Smart Switch on a computer to create a backup first.
The programme is free to join. However, downloading the large software file may use mobile data. A Wi-Fi connection is a better choice.

New Tools in Notes
One UI 9 adds decorative tapes and more pen styles to Samsung Notes. Creative Studio also works with Contacts so users can make profile cards without leaving the app. It requires a Samsung Account, internet access and a separate download.
Users can change the size and position of brightness, volume and media controls in the Quick Panel. One UI 9 also improves Mouse Keys, TalkBack and Text Spotlight for easier reading and navigation.

Security and Android 17 Features
One UI 9 can warn users about risky apps and may block or suggest removing them. Android 17 also adds better contact permissions, stronger password protection and more privacy controls.

One UI 9 Release Date
Samsung has not confirmed an exact stable release date. The full update will arrive on new flagship Galaxy devices later in 2026. Reports suggest September 2026, but Samsung has not confirmed this.
Samsung will hold a Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026, where it may share more details. Reports claim the Galaxy A07s may launch with Android 17 and One UI 9, but Samsung has not confirmed the phone or its software.
