The much-popular sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is all set to return in May this year after a long wait of almost 11 years. The news was confirmed by producer JD Majethia who played ‘Himanshu’ in the TV show ‘Khichdi’ on Wednesday.
The show will be aired as a web series in its new avatar. “Shooting will continue all through April. We are targeting a May release,” said Majethia.
The popular show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai ran on Star Plus between 2004 and 2006. It revolved around an upper-class mother-in-law struggling with her middle-class daughter-in-law. The family ran into trouble frequently but always emerged stronger after each one.
The TV show featured Ratna Pathak Shah as Maya, Satish Shah as Indravadan, Rupali Ganguly as Monisha/Manisha, Sumeet Raghavan as Sahil and Rajesh Kumar as Roshesh.
“The world has changed today. Things have changed in the 10 years that we’ve been away and we need to acknowledge that. We need to be extremely well-prepared to come back with something better. If not, then we shouldn’t come back at all,” Ratna Pathak Shah had earlier said to HT.
