Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar minister Shyam Rajak likely to join RJD ahead of Assembly Election

Shyam Rajak, senior Bihar J(DU) leader and Minister of Industry is likely to join Lalu Prasad Yadav helmed RJD. According to the reports, Rajak is said to have been neglected by the party.

Rajak confessed his problems with the ministry to CM Nitish Kumar. However, he was ignored. Due to arising confusion among the party members, the senior leader decided to resign.

The senior leader is taking suggestions from other leaders of his constituency. It is expected that a press conference on Monday may announce the resignation, reports suggest.

For those uninitiated, Shyam Rajak had been one of the closest associates to Lalu Prasad Yadav. In 2009, the leader resigned from the post of MLA from Phulwari Sharif, Patna, and joined RJD.

Though he lost the bye-election, he was appointed as an MLA in 2010. However, in 2015, Nitish Kumar had re-appointed him as minister in an alliance with the BJP.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped in to address the widening rift between its Bihar partners Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). Party sources said that Chirag in his rousing speech debunked speculations of his breaking ranks with the BJP-led NDA stressing that LJP’s loyalty to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “deeper” than that of JD(U) helmed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
