September 2025 Calendar:September has always felt like a month of possibilities and reminders for me. Thinking of the seasonal change alone, September has so many special days – to thank a teacher, to celebrate literacy, to thank peace, to be concerned about health, to draw attention to equality, and to recognize the environment! There are also festival times, cultural traditions, solar eclipses, and, in fact, September 2025 put the whole world together in ways we hadn’t imagined. September is a month for connecting to both our roots and to the worlds experience.

National Observances (U.S. centric) include National Suicide Prevention Month, National Recovery Month, and Friendship Month, among over 50 themes like Read A New Book Month, National Honey Month, Self-Improvement Month, International Month of Black Women in the Arts, National Disease Literacy Month, and many others .

Simultaneously, the globally recognized World Alzheimer’s Month, along with Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month, Sepsis Awareness Month, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Hunger Action Month, and others, underscore the broader international and humanitarian focus .

Pitru Paksha (Sept 7–21): Its a couple of weeks where a lot of Hindu families honor their ancestors think rituals, offerings (pinda-daan, shradh, that kind of thing). This year, it even lines up with a lunar eclipse on the 7th, so, you know, extra spiritual vibes all around. If you’re into soul-searching, or just want to feel connected to something bigger, this is peak season.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (approx. Sept 4): Marking the Prophet Muhammad’s birth, this revered Islamic observance brings together community, prayer, and reverence .

September 23: From this year now onwards, National Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on every September 23. Earlier it was observed on Dhanteras every year.

Other days include Hindi Diwas (Sept 14), Engineer’s Day (Sept 15), World Physical Therapy Day and Grandparents’ Day (Sept 8), World First Aid Day (Sept 11), alongside Chocolate Day and Skyscraper Day a fun mix of awareness, and tradition.
