The Cyberabad Police sent notices to over 500 people for their involvement in the QNet scam case. Among those who were issued notices in the QNet scam, many Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff and cricketers like Yuvraj Singh and more were part of the list. The actors and cricketers have been issued notices with regard to the scam by QNet which is a multi-level marketing company that deals in India via its franchise Vihaan Direct Selling. Back in 2014, snooker champion Michael Ferreira had also come under the scanner due to his involvement with the QNet scam.

Post this, Boman Irani and his son, Danesh Irani’s accounts were probed by Economic Offences Wing for their involvement. At that time, Boman had also clarified that his son and he were law-abiding citizens of the country. He also clarified that his son had worked as an agent back in 2007-2008 after passing out college and all his earnings were taxed as per the law. Top A-list actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor and more have now been issued notices with regards to the investigation of the scam committed by QNet. QNet has been accused of running one of the biggest Ponzi scams in the country where a number of people have been cheated. On January 8, 2019, VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad told media, “There are a total of 30 cases registered on QNet in Cyberabad. There are eight cases which are under investigation with CID.” Apart from the prominent personalities, QNet’s promoters, shareholders and directors have also been issued notices in the scam probe.

QNet is a multi-level marketing company that has run into many controversies since it began business in India. The Supreme Court had also issued a notice to Cyberabad Police after they plead against QNet for not following orders on February 24. The notice has asked the actors and cricketers to appear before them for investigations within a weeks time and to explain their involvement in endorsing the controversial firm.

Many common people claimed to the Cyberabad Police that it was because celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Boman Irani, Pooja Hegde, Jackie Shroff and Yuvraj Singh endorsing the company, they got into the scam and were duped by QNet. Post the arrest of QNet’s representatives, the company issued a statement and revealed that they have launched an internal investigation as well.
