Singer KK cause of death: Krishnakumar Kunnath, born on 23 August 1968, and popularly known as KK, was an Indian playback singer who passed away on May 31 in Kolkata due to massive heart attack.
A case of unnatural death in connection with the sudden demise has been registered at the New Market police station where the police are awaiting the late singer’s family.
The mortal remains of KK will be handed over to the family after the postmortem. A probe into the matter is underway. Investigators are waiting for the preliminary report of the postmortem.
KK was feeling unwell after reaching his hotel, following a performance at a concert in the evening where he sang for almost an hour, officials said.
He was taken to a private hospital in south Kolkata where doctors declared him brought dead, they said.
”It’s unfortunate that we could not treat him,” a senior official of the hospital said.
KK, known as a versatile singer, has recorded songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, and Gujarati languages films.
He was regarded as one of the most versatile singers of his generation.
