Srinagar Police hold talent hunt event

Srinagar, Feb 10 (IANS) Srinagar police organised a talent hunt event titled ‘Choona Hai Aasman’ under the Civic Action Programme at Tagore Hall here on Monday.

A large number of participants from Srinagar district participated in the district level singing competition. They were categorised in three age groups — 5-12 years, 13-18 years and 19-25 years.

Three winners from each category were conferred with a cash prize of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000, respectively. The aim of the programme was to provide a platform to aspiring contestants to showcase their talent and provide them the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities so that they can be projected at the regional and national levels.

The winners also qualified for the range level singing competition. The winners of the range level competition would compete at the zonal level and finally the winners of the zonal level shall be provided with the opportunity to compete at the higher level to claim the title of ‘Choona Hai Aasmaan’.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinagar SSP Haseeb Mughal said the Valley is blessed with youth full of talent who need to be motivated to excel in different fields.

Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar praised the contestants for their skills and said that J&K Police are committed to provide a platform to talented people, especially the youth, in various fields.
