Sunil Gavaskar Predicts: Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI Century Date and Venue Revealed for CWC 2023!

The “Little Master,” a former Indian captain, predicted the date on which Virat Kohli would complete his 50th ODI century. Garvashir Gavaskar predicts that Kohli will accomplish this momentous achievement against South Africa on November 5, which also happens to be the star batsman’s birthday.

Gavaskar holds the steadfast conviction that no occasion could have been more suitable for Kohli to carve his name into the annals of cricket history. The legendary cricketer further stated that the right-handed batsman needs to complete two more matches without scoring his 49th century prior to November 5’s match against South Africa at Eden Gardens.

Virat Kohli becomes fourth-highest run-scorer in ODIs

Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports: “Kohli will slam his 50th ODI Century against South Africa at the Eden Gardens and what better occasion than his birthday?”

Kohli is in close proximity, by one ton, to matching Sachin Tendulkar’s record of the most hundreds scored in ODIs (49); to surpass this esteemed global record, two more centuries are required. Gavaskar is confident that he will accomplish this prior to the 2023 Cricket World Cup semifinals.

Gavaskar signed off by saying, “It’s a sight when you slam a ton there because the Kolkata crowd gives you a standing ovation, and cheers for you, the air is filled with whistles and claps. It is a moment to savour for every batter.”

Notably, on October 29, 2023, the leading team in the standings, Team India, will face England in Lucknow for their sixth match of the ongoing Cricket World Cup.
