After waiting so much, students have to still wait a little bit more to get the final decision on UGC Exam Guidelines and final year examinations. Additionally, the Supreme Court is unlikely to announce the final judgement today either as the matter is not listed in the cause list for today. SC is possibly shifting the final decision by another day.

Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava has confirmed this news by tweeting. Even though it is not confirm if the verdict will come tomorrow or not, the hope for a speedy verdict is awaited.

Everyone must note that the Supreme Court has not confirmed the date of the final judgement.

Many universities have already started and some have even held the final year exam, however, the states of Delhi, Maharashtra and Odisha are awaiting the Supreme Court decision.

In the court, the UGC stated that it is mandatory for universities across the country to follow the instructions issued by the Commission. Therefore, no State Government can take the decision to cancel the examination against the instructions of the Commission.

11 students from across the country moved to the Supreme Court for intervention in the matter.

After that, 2 separate petitions – one by Yuva Sena on behalf of Maharashtra State’s decision on cancellation of the exams and another by a law student were also filed.

The matter was heard in the court over multiple hearings. Final submissions have been made and the decision is now awaited.
