Surat police prohibits smearing cake on face during birthday celebrations in public place

In case of noticing birthday celebration in violent manner, police will intervene on road or other public places.

Surat police prohibits smearing cake on face during birthday celebrations

Whether one enjoys it or not, smearing cake on faces, birthday bumps, use of adhesive tapes and foam always creates a chaos and often turns birthday celebrations into tragic violence. In order to avoid the same, Surat Police Commissioner Satish Sharma issued orders prohibiting smearing cake, adhesive tape, foam or chemicals on any person during birthday celebration in public place.

The notice came after instances of some people being thrashed for fun on their birthdays, came to light. It was brought to police notice that the birthday celebrations carried out in public places, mostly main roads, turn violent.

Following orders of police commissioner, a public notification prohibiting such acts was issued by assistant commissioner of police, special branch, P L Chaudhary, under Indian Penal Code 188 – disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant. Police can arrest any person violating this notification.

In case of noticing birthday celebration in violent manner, police will intervene on road or other public places. Police patrolling teams will also be instructed to keep eye on such celebrations.

Police will not only book those involved for violation of notification but for thrashing and other related offences as well.
