Screenwriters Association (SWA), the Indian guild of screenwriters and lyricists, announced on Sep. 10 the 10 nominees for the Lyrics category of SWA Awards 2020. The awards will be dedicated to screenwriters and lyricists of Hindi feature films, television shows and web series.
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took to Twitter and expressed happiness about the first-ever screenwriting awards in the industry.
He wrote, “Good scripts are foundation that films are based on. At ADFF we have always respected screenwriters. I am glad to know that the screenwriting fraternity will have their very own #SWAAwards on 27th September.
So let us motivate writers with our action & appreciate them.”

The goal of the Screenwriters Association, with a membership of 30,000, has been to get the film and TV industries to acknowledge the central role that writers play in the creation of cinema and TV shows.
The SWA awards will celebrate the outstanding writing of the year by having knowledgeable, experienced and credible writers on the jury, following a fair and accountable process of assessing, selecting and awarding quality writing.
