Taapsee Pannu signs Rahul Dholakia's next after Kirti Sanon's exit

Thappad actor, Taapsee Pannu, will be seen in Rahul Dholakia next after Kirti Sanon’s exit. Raees’ director, Rahul Dholakia announced his next project around mid-2019.

According to the official announcement, Kriti Sanon would play this woman-centric movie. Struggling in adjustment of shoot dates, the actress had stepped out of this film. Now, Taapsee will be seen as the lead of the movie.

Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey to star in Vinil Mathew’s romantic thriller

As per the source, “After Kriti decided to step out of the film, Rahul had approached Sara Ali Khan for the same role but even she couldn’t accommodate this film. Then, he offered the film to Taapsee Pannu and she loved the script. It’s a brilliantly written crime thriller that is very performance-driven. The producer Sunir Kheterpal was looking for a powerhouse actor who also has a good bankability at the ticket windows. He has delivered a huge hit with Taapsee last year in Badla. So when he told her about this film, she agreed to do it.” We got in touch with Rahul Dholakia who didn’t respond to our query. The film shooting will start next year.

Taapsee made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. Since then, she has appeared in several critically acclaimed films such as Aadukalam, Vastadu Naa Raju, and Mr. Perfect. Her Tamil film Aadukalam won six National Film Awards at the 58th National Film Awards. She has also worked in a Malayalam film and has been signed on for three Telugu films and several Hindi films. She was awarded the Most Enthusiastic Performer-Female Award at the 2014 Edison Awards for her performance in the Tamil film Arrambam (2013). Taapsee went on to star in several commercially successful films including Pink (2016), Badla (2019) and Game Over (2019), and received critical acclaim for her performances in Naam Shabana (2017), Mulk (2018), Manmarziyaan (2018) and Saand Ki Aankh (2019).
