Tamil actor Suriya has joined the race for the Oscar for his film Soorarai Pottru. The film was directed by Sudha Kongara. Suriya starrer Sorrai Potru has been selected for various Oscars categories.
Rajsekar Pandian, CEO of 2D Entertainment and a close friend of Suriya, has reported this on his Twitter account. Amazon Prime Video has retweeted from its official Twitter handle and confirmed this.

In a tweet, Rajsekar wrote, “Happy Republic Day! Soorarai Pottru joins OSCARS under General Category in Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Original Score & other categories! The film has been made available in the Academy Screening Room today.“
