Tata Punch EV Gets an Infotainment Upgrade: Tata Motors recently introduced significant enhancements to India’s most popular EV, the Nexon EV. According to reports, Tata Motors intends to launch six new electric vehicles in the near future, despite having an extant electric vehicle lineup. The Punch EV, which was recently observed on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, is the first vehicle in the pipeline.

According to a recent report by Autocar India, the Tata Punch EV is presently undergoing testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway at speeds of nearly 100 kilometers per hour. The interior of the vehicle featured an illuminated steering wheel design comparable to that of the Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts. This design was first introduced in the Tata Curvv concept vehicle before being incorporated into the Nexon series production models.
The test vehicle featured a larger infotainment screen, presumably the 10.25-inch display seen in facelifted models of the mid-range Tata Nexon. Interestingly, one of the Punch EV demonstration vehicles was equipped with a 7-inch display, similar to the ICE Punch model. This indicates that the 10.25-inch display and redesigned steering wheel design may be reserved for the highest-tier Punch EV model. It remains unclear whether the Punch EV will offer a sunroof, as the ICE version only recently received this option.
In addition, the Tata Punch EV features design modifications, such as new LED headlamps and updated alloy wheel designs. It is anticipated to employ the same Gen 2 motor as the Nexon EV, and the charging receptacle will be located in the front, a first for Tata’s electric vehicles.
Tata Punch EV estimated cost
While the BS6 version of the Tata Punch in India begins at Rs 6 lakh, the EV variant is expected to begin at approximately Rs 9.50 lakh. It is anticipated that it will fall between the Tata Tiago EV and the Tigor EV.
