The two teenagers involved in the unforgivable act of allegedly torturing and assaulting a dog have been arrested by Ujjain Police.
The incident came to light when a TikTok video of the incident went viral on social media. The two youths allegedly tied up the dog and drowned him in a pond.
The development comes two days after PETA India took cognisance of the animal cruelty act, and offered a reward of up to Rs 50,000 for information on these abusers.
PETA in its blog wrote:
“We’re calling on anyone with information to come forward immediately – to help dogs and humans. As psychologists well know, violent people often start by abusing animals and then move on to target humans. “
The young men were identified and traced. Both of them hail from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. According to reports, PETA, in its FIR, charged the teenagers for killing the dog with several sections including Sections 34 and 429 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 11(1)(a) of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960.
