Telangana: Dalit leader Manda Krishna to support Congress led grand alliance

Ahead of Telangana polls, Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) founder and senior Dalit leader Manda Krishna on Saturday announced its support to the Congress led grand alliance in the state. The Madigas in Telangana, led by Manda Krishna, have been demanding the categorisation of Scheduled Castes (SC) to ensure judicious distribution of reservation among all SC communities.

During an interaction with media after meeting Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Uttam Kumar Reddy, Manda Krishna said, “Mainly, we want our issues to be addressed and even taken up in Parliament.”

“Congress party must come up with a route map to begin work within a year. This issue must be mentioned in the manifesto of all ally parties as well. However, it is not enough to just mention the same in the manifesto but it should also be implemented,”, he added.

Speaking on the lines of upcoming elections, Krishna opined that “MRPS will work to defeat the present establishment and also work to ensure that the Mahakutami (grand alliance) comes into power.”

Telangana polls are scheduled for December 7 and results will be declared on December 11.
