Telangana assembly polls which are scheduled for December 2018, expected to witness a neck to neck competition, as Congress has geared up for the big battle and conversely Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is facing resentments over various issues. The undivided Andhra Pradesh was a stronghold of the Congress and Rahul Gandhi’s leadership has created a massive influence in Telangana.

K Chandrashekhar Rao who is popularly known as KCR decided to dissolve state assembly before its term, following that some experts claim it as a masterstroke and many see it is a wrong gamble.

Experts claim that Telangana Congress has been a much better side this time.

Here are some vital reasons, why Congress is leading on several fronts:

Grand Alliance:

The highly talked ‘Grand Alliance’ of Congress, TDP, CPI and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) for the upcoming Telangana elections has totally changed the equations. Stating it as a ‘masterstroke’, sources said that Congress would evolve as a crucial party in the state and may be in a position to form the government.

The ‘Grand Alliance’ for the coming assembly elections would come up with a common agenda, state Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy told media.

KCR’s decision to dissolve state assembly:

Telangana’s caretaker Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao’s decision to dissolve the assembly before the term could backfire the TRS strategy in the state, sources told. Congress is the front-runner in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It is expected that Congress is trying to create the same impact in Telangana, state unit has planned extensive campaigning and Rahul Gandhi is expected to lead the battle.

New Mass Leaders in Telangana Congress:

During YS Rajshekhra Reddy regime, Congress flourished in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, however, after him, Congress subsequently started losing its grounds in the state. Also, Congress did not get a mass leader, currently N Uttam Reddy, Damodar Raja Narasimha and many more leaders are receiving a positive response from the voters. These Congress leaders could also help the party in forming the government in Telangana.
