At least 10 bogies of the Kaifiyat Express train has derailed near Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh during the early hours of Wednesday. About 74 people were injured in the incident while no deaths have been reported as of now.

The incident happened when the train collided with a dumper at around 2:50 am between Pata and Achalda railway stations.

Union railway minister, Suresh Prabhu said the injured have been moved to nearby hospitals.

An NDRF team has been sent to the accident spot to conduct rescue operations. The train Kaifiyat Express runs between Azamgarh and New Delhi.

Notably, the incident happened just three days after 14 coaches of the Kalinga Utkal Express derailed at Khatauli on Saturday. The unfortunate incident killed about 22 people and injured dozens.

Prabhu said that he is constantly monitoring the situation. He has also told the senior officials to reach the accident site immediately.
