Toilet Ek Prem Katha stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar were in Lucknow today to promote their upcoming film and also to spread awareness about the importance of building toilets and putting an end to defecation in the open — a message he is giving out with his forthcoming film. Soon after his visit, the movie was declared tax free in the state for its social message.

Akshay Kumar shared the stage with CM, Adityanath to spread awareness of toilet among the citizens and side by to side to promote his film as well. The function was held in Millennium School, Lucknow. Soon after the program got over, Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath made a big announcement making film tax free in Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, Akshay Kumar was also chosen as brand-ambassador for clean Uttar Pradesh.

Akshay Kumar shouted slogans of cleanliness and said it is very important for everyone, especially women, to have basic facilities of a safe and clean toilet.

The makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha have created a co-branded social initiative ‘2 For Toilet’ with CleanMate, a brand of toilet cleaner liquid and home cleaning products by Future Consumer Limited. The initiative aims at raising funds that will be used to improve sanitation facilities across the country.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Shree Narayan Singh, deals with the need for sanitisation in India and is based on Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign. It features Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher in a pivotal role.
