Life Insurance Companies With Complaints: Many people feel disappointed with their life insurance company. This can happen for many reasons. Some people say the policy was sold to them in a confusing way. Others complain about bad service. A big problem comes during claim time. Families pay premiums every year with trust. But when money is needed the most, claims get delayed. Sometimes the payout is less than expected. In some cases the claims are fully rejected.

This problem is not rare. Every year, many customers complain about life insurance companies. These complaints are sent to the Insurance Ombudsman. The Council of Insurance Ombudsman releases a report every year that shows which companies get the most complaints.
Companies with the Most Complaints
The Annual Report for FY 2024–25 shows clear numbers. Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company received the highest number of complaints during the year. The company got 2,770 complaints. LIC of India was next with 1,951 complaints during FY 2024-25. Even though LIC has a very large customer base, its complaint number is still seen as low when compared to its size.
Among the top 10 life insurance companies, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company had the fewest complaints. It received only 555 complaints during the same period. These figures come from the official report titled “Statement of Complaints Disposal for Life Insurance issued by the Office of the Council for Insurance Ombudsmen for the period from 01 April 2024 to 31 March 2025”.

Pending Complaints Still a Concern
Apart from new complaints, some issues remain unresolved. Bharti AXA Life Insurance Co. Ltd. had the highest number of pending complaints. It had 503 complaints still open during the year. LIC of India followed with 184 pending complaints. HDFC Life Insurance Co. Ltd. came next with 174 unresolved cases.
On the positive side we see Edelweiss Life Insurance Company had the lowest number of pending complaints among the top 10 insurers. It reported only 87 outstanding complaints.
