In another news, a popular torrent indexing website, ExtraTorrent is closing down permanently. It is to be noted that previously many such torrent websites have been closed down. Although, clone websites to these have replaced them to serve the users.

The closing of this website has been confirmed by ExtraTorrent’s chief who goes by the codename SaM, who also added that ExtraTorrent’s release group ETRG will also be inactive.
Notably, big websites similar to ExtraTorrent, such as KickAssTorrents, and Torrentz.eu have also been inactive after its boss Artem Vaulin was arrested in Poland. Vaulin was wanted in America for copyright infringement issues and money laundering. The US government sought to extradite Vaulin over these charges.
Recently, the torrent websites are facing an increasing cracking down from authorities. While some shutdown, clones do come up to take their place.
