After two major train derailments that took several lives in just four days, railway minister, Suresh Prabhu took full moral responsibility for the unfortunate incidents after meeting Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
“I met the Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi taking full moral responsibility. Hon’ble PM has asked me to wait. I am extremely pained by the unfortunate accidents, injuries to passengers and loss of precious lives. It has caused me deep anguish,” he tweeted.

Railway board chairman, AK Mittal, gave his resignation on Wednesday. However, sources report that railway minister, Suresh Prabhu, has not accepted his resignation as yet. Just like Prabhu, Mittal was facing criticism following the Utkal Express derailment in Muzaffarnagar that took 23 lives.
