In a sensational revelation to the Muzzaffarpur shelter home case, the CBI has sought more time from the Supreme Court, saying that they are trying to locate the dead bodies of 11 girls.
Earlier, as per medical reports, it was revealed that more than 30 girls living in the shelter home before the case came under the light, had suffered sexual abuse. The Muzaffarpur horror came to light when the Bihar Social Welfare Department filed an FIR based on a social audit of the shelter home conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai that mentions incidents of rapes of minor girls.
Last year after the TISS study highlighted that out of the 42 girls lodged at the short-stay home run by an NGO, 34 were found to have been sexually assaulted.
The Muzzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal came into light when the Bihar Social Welfare Department filed an FIR relying on the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) social audit, which concluded that several inmates of the Muzaffarpur shelter home were allegedly sexually abused and assaulted.
The shelter home was being run by Brajesh Thakur and an FIR was lodged against 11 people, including Thakur, on May 31. The probe was later taken over by the CBI.
