Hyderabad: The Board of Intermediate Education has decided to hold online video classes to coach students of government junior colleges for various entrance exams instead of conducting online tests.
Since 2015-16 academic year, the department has provided short-term summer tutoring classes to these students through offline or virtual classes to conduct various competitive exams. Due to the nationwide lockdown, short-term summer coaching classes cannot be held.
“Hence, we provided links for online video classes free of cost,” Commissioner of Intermediate Education, Syed Omer Jaleel said on Tuesday. The district officers along with principals are monitoring online video classes taking the help of student counsellors, he said.
The department proposed to conduct online daily, weekend, and grand tests for entrance exams like Joint Entrance Examination-Main, National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, and Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test.
The students of government junior colleges and government welfare junior colleges can give these tests in English and Telugu mediums for free.
The department will also analyse each student’s performance with the help of M/S CloudEdz Pvt Ltd Hyderabad.
The students can appear for tests from April 20 and a schedule will be sent to all the District Intermediate Educational Officers (DIEOs)/nodal officers through e-mail and WhatsApp.

At the same time, the Board of Intermediate Education decided to continue to provide counselling to intermediate students facing pressure and other related issues.
