The UK economy has grown by 0.5% in the second quarter of the year, a slowdown from the preliminary estimate of 0.6%, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) data released on Monday.
The revised figure surprised economists who had expected the growth rate to remain unchanged from the ONS’s earlier projection.
