In a recent incident, a young law student girl chopped off the genitals of a self-styled godman, Sreehari alias Ganeshananda Theerthapada. The girl who belongs from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, however, changed her statement in the letter dates June 12 and said that Sreehari never sexually abused her.
On another hand, another shocking twist came when after the girl’s confinement a man filed a habeas corpus petition in the Kerala High Court on Monday. In the petition, he asked that the girl should be released from ‘forceful confinement’. This third person is a 35-year-old Ayyappadas who is native of Kollam. But according to the girl, this man is responsible for the bitter relationship between her and Sreehari. She said that Ayyappadas hatched the plan for the godman to be framed.
Later, the letter written to Sreehari’s lawyer by the girl took another turn. On June 12th she wrote a letter to the lawyer and mentioned that Ayyappadas, who was Sreehari’s disciple, had misled her and asked her to chop off Sreehari’s penis.
However, as per Ayyapadas’s claim in the petition, the girl was forced to write the letter stating that she was not raped by Sreehari.
The petition filed through advocate MSV, Namboothiri said, “ She was forcibly removed from their house at Kannamoola in Thiruvananthapuram and was illegally confined in a house at Nedumangad under the strict control of certain activists of Sangh Parivar and assisted by advocate Ajith, who is the counsel of the Swami”.
The petition further added, “even the conversation that Aparna had with Ajith, telecasted in some TV channels, it can be seen that there is manipulated version to help the Swami. The phone call also throws serious doubt about the genuineness of the same. These are attempts to save the criminal from the prosecution”.
Moreover, the petition also mentioned about the past events where the girl had attacked Sreehari for years of sexual abuse.
“It was because of continuous sexual harassment and that too against her will that Aparna was forced to chop off the penis of the Swami”

He claimed that a criminal conspiracy was hatched by some activists of the Sangh Parivar as Shreehari was unlikely to get bail soon for his offences. As a result, the girl was taken from her house by force and she had to manipulate the letter. She in a wrongful confinement.
It was further revealed that Ayyappadas has been in love with the girl for several months. He even accused Sreehari of exploiting Aparna’s father illness. He said in the petition, “the Swami also used to sexually harass Aparna even when she was a child and she was waiting for an opportunity to teach him a lesson”.
Sreehari was running a hotel at Kolencherry, called Kalavara where Ayyappadas was also working. He used to handle day to day affairs when Sreehari was away in Thiruvananthapuram.
Ayyappadas says he visited Aparna’s house on the day of the bobbitting incident too, and later heard the news that Aparna cut off the Sreehari’s penis.
Though as per the petition the police officers are aware of the reality, they, however, are unable to take an action as the girl has stepped back from her earlier statement.
Advocate Namboothiri told TNM, “ to save their face, members of the RSS have forcefully made the girl change her statement and write the letter to advocate Ajith Kumar. The woman is in their custody against her will and she should be produced before the court”.
