In a shocking incident, a student of Mahatma Gandhi Inter College in Kushinagar has been expelled by the institution for protesting against the molester who harassed and misbehaved with her in full public view.

The incident happened on Thursday when the girl was on her way back home from school, the accused allegedly misbehaved with her. The victim stood up to him, beat him up and got him arrested.

When the victim reported to the school administration about the incident, they dismissed her complaint saying the incident occurred outside the campus and does not fall under their jurisdiction. Later, on Saturday, she was expelled on the ground that she had harmed her school’s reputation by creating a scene and blowing the matter out of proportion.

According to an FIR made by the victim, the school principal stated at the prayer hall that “such girls” are not needed here as they spoil the school’s image.

Responding to the incident, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that, “Law is there and we ensure that police will do its work and justice will be served to the victim.”

Meanwhile, Kushinagar police has registered a case against the youth under relevant sections.
