Upcoming Indian Premier League Overview

Following the IPL super auction, all attention has been focused on the next 15th season of the cash-rich competition, which begins in May. According to plans, the IPL 2022 season would be staged exclusively in India.

Following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the BCCI was forced to relocate the IPL 2020 edition to the United Arab Emirates.

Similarly, the Indian cricket board was forced to relocate the second half of the IPL 2018 edition to the Middle East due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the 15th season of the IPL will be held in India.

According to a source in Sportstar, the BCCI is expected to organize the competition at six different locations.

It has been decided to use five sites in Maharashtra to prevent air travel during these difficult times throughout the country, while Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium will host the knockout games.

According to the source, the BCCI, under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly, is also interested in staging a few of the games at Jio Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Meanwhile, most games will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium, and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (all located in Pune) during the league stage.

Maharashtra is one of the legal states in India, comprising a large chunk of the Deccan Plateau in the western and central peninsular regions. It is India’s second-most populated state and the world’s second-most populous national subdivision.

According to the analysis, the national cricket body is anticipated to release the entire schedule for the next season by the end of February.
