Aadhaar cardholders can update their details for free online through the myAadhaar portal until December 14, 2024. After this deadline, offline updates at Aadhaar centers will incur a fee. It’s advisable to complete any updates before this date to avoid additional charges.

How to Update Aadhaar Online
The process for online updates is straightforward:
- Step 1: Visit the Official Website: Log on to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
- Step 2: Click the ‘Login’ button, enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code, then click ‘Send OTP’. Enter the OTP received and click the ‘Login’ button.
- Step 3: Select the ‘Document Update’ option.
- Step 4: Read the guidelines and click ‘Next’.
- Step 5: Check the box that says, “I verify that the above details are correct,” then click ‘Next’.
- Step 6: Upload your ‘Proof of Identity’ and ‘Proof of Address’ documents, and click ‘Submit’.
You will receive a ‘Service Request Number (SRN)’ via email, which you can use to track the status of your document update.
How to submit documents at Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
To submit updated documents, individuals can visit the Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal. By selecting the ‘Centres Nearby’ tab and entering their location details, users can find Aadhaar enrolment centres nearby. Alternatively, entering a PIN code in the ‘Search by PIN Code’ section will display Aadhaar centers within that area.

Offline updates for biometric changes
For biometric updates like fingerprints, iris scans, or photographs, individuals must visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra. The steps for updating biometric details include:
