Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer horror-comedy Stree won a lot of hearts back in 201 when the film hit the screens. The movie performed phenomenally at the box office making it Rajkummar’s first 100-crore film. The sequel to the movie was announced shortly; however, rumors mill were abuzz recently that Varun Dhawan is in talks with the makers and has had meetings with them leading to speculations of him replacing Rao in the movie.
Several sources denied the rumours and now the Kalank actor denied the rumors and clarified that there is no truth to it. Another source added, “Rajkummar is most definitely doing Stree 2. He is currently busy shooting for Turram Khan and is also working on the patchwork left for Mental Hai Kya. Raj is most likely to begin shooting for the horror comedy sequel by the year-end.”
Meanwhile, speaking of Varun, the actor is currently busy with Kalank promotions wherein he is seen alongside Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, and Madhuri Dixit. The movie releases on April 17, 2019, and is a partition era love story. Shortly, the actor will also be seen in Coolie No 1, which is a remake of the film featuring Govinda. The movie will be directed by David Dhawan and will reportedly star Sara Ali Khan opposite him.
