What Does Sleep Mode Do on iPhone

What Does Sleep Mode Do on iPhone: The Health app on iOS devices has long let you keep track of your sleep habits and other things. But isn’t it annoying when messages wake you up in the middle of the night?

These alerts might not be important, and they could mess up your sleep schedule. Putting your phone on DND mode before bed can help you sleep better, but you might miss important calls and messages that come in during the night. The good news is that the Sleep mode can help with this. Let’s learn more about it and how to use it on your iPhone.

What does iPhone sleep mode do?

iOS has a Focus mode called “Sleep mode” that turns on immediately based on your Health app sleep schedule. It lets you set alarms that can help you get up on time.

On top of that, you can pick a time when your lock screen will be dimmed to help you relax. During the wind down time, you can also pick which app options to show on your lock screen. To help you sleep better at night, you can add apps that help you relax and other useful tools to your lock screen.

Can you turn on sleep mode by hand?

Yes, you can easily turn on the Sleep focus mode on your iPhone whenever you need to by going to the Settings app or the Control Center. But you have to set up Sleep Focus in the Health app before you can use all of its features, such as the dimmed lock screen.

What is the sleep timer? How is it different from the sleep mode?

The Clock app now has a new feature called Sleep Timer that lets you set a timer to play media while you sleep. And so on. You can listen to your favorite music, podcasts, and other things while you sleep, and when the timer goes off, they will stop on their own.

It’s not the same as the Sleep Focus mode because it doesn’t have extra features like a dimmed lock screen, quiet alerts, and more. You can use a sleep timer with Sleep mode, though, if you want to listen to music, podcasts, or other things while you sleep.

What’s the difference between DND and sleep mode?

You can’t really tell the difference between DND and Sleep mode now that Focus modes are there. You can turn off notifications on both, add important friends to a “whitelist,” make your own lock screens, home screens, and more.

On the other hand, you can only get to the Sleep Screen when you’re in the Sleep Focus mode. Sleep Screen dims your lock screen and only shows the shortcuts and apps you pick for your Sleep Focus mode. This keeps you from being distracted.

How to put your iPhone into sleep mode and use it

Here’s how to set up and use Sleep Focus mode on your iPhone now that you know what it is. To help you through the process, read and follow the steps below.

On your iPhone, open the Health app.

At the bottom of the screen, tap Browse.

Press the Sleep button.

Now, go to Your Schedule and tap on Sleep Schedule.

At the top, tap Sleep Schedule and turn it on and off.

To use the schedule for sleep focus, tap and turn it on.

Next, under “Full Schedule,” tap on “Set Your First Schedule.”

You can use the options at the top to tap and choose which days you want your Sleep Schedule to be active.

Now, move the end of the bar that has the bed icon to the time you want to go to bed. This is when your Sleep Schedule will start working on its own.

Next, set the time you want to wake up by dragging the alarm icon-marked scale. This is when Sleep Schedule will set an alarm and then turn it off by itself if you want it to.

If you want to set an alarm to wake you up, tap and turn on Alarm after setting your times.

Now, tap on Sounds & Haptics to pick the tone you want for your alarm.

Tap and pick the tone you want from the ones shown on the screen.

Get to the top and tap on Haptics.

Now, pick the haptic design you want to go with your wake-up alarm.

You can also tap “Create New Vibration” to give your alarm a unique sound and feel.

Last, if you don’t want to use haptics with your clock, choose None (Default).

Press the “Back” button in the upper left corner of your screen when you’re done.

Press the “Back” button again.

Next, tap and drag the scale to set the volume for your alarm.

Click on Snooze and turn it on if you want to be able to skip the alarm when it goes off. You won’t be able to snooze your alarm if you leave this off.

To add your sleep plan, tap “Add” in the upper right corner.

If you only chose a few days, you can add another sleep plan for the rest of the days by tapping “Add Schedule” again. This lets you make different plans based on how your work flows. For instance, you can set one plan for the week and a different one for the weekends.

Next, tap on the minutes next to Wind Down.

Slide each one to choose the time you want to relax.

Press on Sleep Goal now.

For wind down time, set your own sleep goal like we did.

If you want to keep track of how many times you used your phone before bed and during the night, turn on Track Time in Bed with iPhone.

In order to get reminders for your sleep and wind down times, turn on Sleep Reminders.

Finally, turn on Sleep Results if you want to be informed when you meet or go over your sleep goals. Personal gadgets that track sleep, like an Apple Watch, Fitbit, or others, are needed for this.

That’s how to get your iPhone’s Sleep Focus mode set up and running.
