Father’s Day 2021 is fast approaching, so if you’re planning on celebrating the occasion then you might want to jot down the date in your diary.
Unlike Mother’s Day, which moves in accordance with Easter in the United Kingdom and is celebrated on different dates, Father’s Day takes place on the third Sunday in June every year and falls on the same day in US and Canada as it does the UK.
Luckily, as Father’s Day is always in the summer months, many will be able to enjoy outdoor gatherings to mark the occasion, but with so many restrictions still in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic it can be hard to keep up with what you can and can’t do.
Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning on celebrating your dad or any father figure in your life this year.
When is Father’s Day 2021?
Father’s Day takes place on the third Sunday in June every year.
In 2021 it will take on Sunday, June 20.
What rules will be in place on Father’s Day 2021?
In England Father’s Day falls one day before the easing of restrictions is supposed to take place on June 21, however, doubt has been cast on the government’s roadmap due to concerns over the Indian Covid-19 variant.
The next review in Wales also takes place in three weeks time with some changes set to take place on June 21, although First Minister Mark Drakeford has confirmed Wales will not see all Covid restrictions lifted on this date, even if all measures are lifted in England.
