Mike Beaton: A British Airways pilot partied with cocaine, alcohol, and women in Africa before attempting to maneuver a plane less than 24 hours later. However, he was reported before he could depart, and he was ultimately dismissed for his insubordination.

A few weeks ago, Mike Beaton reportedly confided in a flight attendant about his chaotic night out in a Johannesburg town. Even though he was scheduled to fly the next day, he made the most of his limited grounded period by engaging in forbidden activities.
The Sun obtained communications from Beaton in which he allegedly boasted about a sexual encounter he had with a Welsh woman. The encounter included narcotics, alcohol, and sexual activity. Beaton penned, “I’ve lost my shirt somewhere, and a local youth produces a plate with lines of cocaine. Then a debate ensues regarding whose chest is the finest for a bump-off.” In addition, he boasted, “I’ve been a very naughty boy.”
The flight attendant, who was also his acquaintance, outed him to their supervisors the night before his return flight to London. When Beaton attempted to board his flight, the authorities stopped all boarding.
Beaton attempted to board his flight the following day and return to London… However, his friend reported him to their superiors, and they halted all operations. Instead, he was compelled to spend at least one additional day in Johannesburg. His initial substance test results were negative. Once he was sane again, he was sent back to the United Kingdom as an ordinary passenger.
British Airways terminated his employment shortly thereafter. British Airways, after being stunned by the pilot’s behavior, stated, “Safety is always our top priority. The matter was referred to the CAA, and this employee was terminated.”
