On Wednesday, RJD leader Lalu Prasad threatened to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from office if the Centre did not give Bihar special status.

Speaking with reporters at the Patna airport on Wednesday, Lalu Prasad declared, “We will remove the Modi government from the Centre if Bihar does not get special status.”

Following the Nitish Kumar government’s passage of a proposal on the matter at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the demand for special status has once again gained pace.

Additionally, the state administration has requested that the Centre allocate Rs 2,50,000 crore as funding for a number of projects.

After the meeting, Nitish Kumar posted the following on his official X handle: “We passed a proposal to give Bihar special status during the Cabinet meeting and requested the Centre to meet the same.”

Samrat Choudhary, the state BJP president, responded to the president Minister’s demand for special status by teasing him, stating, “Nitish Kumar requires special treatment and not special status.” He lacks the moral authority to request preferential treatment.
