Rahul Gandhi blamed BJP-RSS for the shoe attack earlier in the day. He said, “I want to tell that that they can attack me as many as times as they want, I will not back down and will keep on fighting.”

Gandhi who is in UP campaigning for the party for upcoming assembly elections was attacked by an assailant who was later identified as Hari Om Mishra, resident of Hargaon. Mishra claimed that he was a reporter of a local news channel.

Mishra was later taken into custody and confessed to police that he was angry at the promises being made by Rahul Gandhi during his road shows as he believed the Congress was behind the problems faced by farmers.

Meanwhile National General Secretary of Bhartiya Janta Part Kailash Vijayvargiya tried to make fun of the incident on twitter saying, “People should stop insulting shoes lie this.” But later expecting the backlash Vijayvargiya deleted the tweet.
