A Sonipat court on Monday pronounced Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) bomb-maker, Abdul Karim Tunda, guilty for 1996 Sonepat blasts case.

He has been booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 3 of the Explosive Substances Act. Lawyers say that he could face a jail term of up to 10 years.

At least twelve people were left injured in the 1996 bomb blasts near the busy bus streets of Sonipat.

According to Tunda, he was in Pakistan when the blast took place. He was captured in 2013 from Nepal.

As per a prosecution lawyer, 43 eyewitnesses, including the injured, recorded their testimony in the trial.
