8th Pay Commission To Replace 7th Pay Commission? In the coming days, employees of the central government covered by the seventh pay commission are likely to receive favourable news regarding DA and Fitment Factor increases, among others. Before Holi 2023, the government led by Narendra Modi is anticipated to dispel rumours and announce a decision regarding pending demands from government employees.

Reports also indicate that the Centre may replace the 7th pay commission with the 8th pay commission. According to a report on TV9Marathi, the Central government is preparing to introduce and implement a new pay commission to supplant the 7th CPC. Nonetheless, an official announcement regarding this matter is anticipated.

If the Centre decides to implement the 8th Pay Commission, the salaries of government employees will be significantly increased. With the announcement of a new pay commission, it is anticipated that the salaries of central government employees will increase by 44 percent the following year.

The salaries of federal employees will be reevaluated using a formula other than the Fitment Factor. According to reports, the new pay commission will be significantly different from its predecessor. While multiple media reports indicate that a new pay commission will be implemented, the Centre has made no proposal in this regard.

Reports also indicate that the eighth pay commission could be introduced in 2024, with implementation most likely occurring in 2026. During the Union Budget, a decision regarding the implementation of a new pay commission was to be announced, but the Finance Minister made no remarks on the matter.
