The #MeToo storm that arrived this year in October exposed sexual predators across various industries. Be it openly or with the veil of anonymity, women shared their heart-shattering experiences of harassment.

Recently, various famous Bollywood actors came together for a roundtable discussion over many issues including the MeToo movement.

The discussion brought in opinions regarding how can the work environment be bettered for the women in Bollywood. Rani Mukerji, one of the most celebrated actors also participated along with Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Tabu, Alia Bhatt and Tapsee Pannu.

While discussing the issue, Mukerji suggested that girls should be taught martial arts. She further went on to say that self-defence should be made an absolutely essential part of the school activities.

Deepika Padukone countered her statement by saying, “why to even bring it to the point where girls should learn self-defence”, to which Anushka gave a nod. Rani later said, “You can’t tell mothers how to bring up their children.” Internet became furious to those comments by Mukerji and soon Twitterati came up with their strong criticism.
