New Delhi: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday extended his best wishes to CA exam topper Shadab Hussain, who cleared the exam in the very first attempt.
“Congratulations, Shadab. I feel very proud of you. I extend my best wishes to you for the journey ahead,” Gandhi wrote on Facebook.
Hussain, who hails from Kota in Rajasthan, is the son of a tailor. He scored 597 out of 800 with 74.63 per cent marks as announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Shadab Hussain completed B.Com from Kota University. His father is a tailor and has studied till class 10. His mother is a school drop-out. Hussain is the only brother of four sisters. Despite his parents being less educated, they worked hard to give him proper schooling.
“I studied day-and-night to earn a job so that my parents do not have to bother about their old age. I thought of Chartered Accountancy (CA) to be a niche profession where one can learn throughout their life. After due consideration and research I set my mind to become a CA,” said Hussain.
Atul Agarwal, resident of Jaipur boy, emerged as the topper of CA Final June 2018 exam by scoring 618/800 marks (77. 25%). The 22-year old All India Rank 1. He is the only candidate in the history of ICAI to score the highest ever marks (83) in Audit paper.
