Rampur is one of the ten constituencies in Uttar Pradesh to go on polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday, April 23. One of the most talked about seats in the General elections currently has Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nepal Singh as the Member of Parliament (MP), who in 2014 had won with a slender margin of 23 thousand votes.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP has fielded Jaya Prada, while the Mahagathbandhan candidate is senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. Congress has fielded Sanjay Kapoor.
The voting for Uttar Pradesh’s 80 parliamentary seats will take place across the seven phases of the 2019 General elections beginning April 11. The last phase will be held on May 19.
Rampur constituency has 1,154,544 electorates out of which 531,775 are females and 622,769 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports.

In Phase III of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 23. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place in May 23.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the third phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
