In the run-up to the presidential poll, National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) nominee Ram Nath Kovind, now former Bihar Governor filed his nomination papers for the upcoming elections for the next President of India in Parliament on Friday. Significantly, the Opposition unanimously selected former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Thursday as its candidate.
While the election for the next President of India will be held on July 17 and the counting will take place on July 20 The Indian Express, a veteran Indian media house, ran a controversial poll on Twitter asking:
