Mumbai Saga Box Office Day 1: John Abraham-Emraan Hashmi starrer makes Rs. 2.82 crore on opening day

John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Mumbai Saga’ hit the silver screens on March 19, 2021. The multi-starrer gangster drama has failed to create an impact on the box-office on its opening day. The film has collected Rs. 2.82 crore.

Film critic and movie trade analyst Taran Adarsh termed the collection of the film low and said that the business of the movie has been such because of the brunt of the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking it to Twitter, Taran wrote, “”#MumbaiSaga has a low Day 1, despite face-value + positive word of mouth… Biz affected by #Covid pandemic… More so in #Maharashtra, where the film was expected to perform best..”

However, due to the night curfew imposed in some of the states in the country, the film’s business has been greatly affected. According to multiple reports, the movie’s business has been highly impacted due to the restrictions in Maharashtra. But, in places where are no restrictions, a large number of crowds was witnessed.

About Mumbai Saga:

Set in the 1980s-90s, the film revolves around the underworld. John portrays the character of a gangster while Hashmi is essaying the role of a police officer. Hashmi fights it out with the underworld to eliminate violence from the city.

Mumbai Saga has been written and directed by Sanjay Gupta. The film marks Sanjay’s comeback to the genre of gangster drama after a gap of eight years. His last gangster film was Shootout at Wadala, which released in 2013.
