Google Will Now Alert You About Your Personal Details in Search: Google announced last year that users could request the removal of private information such as phone numbers and addresses from Google Search. Additionally, the company stated that it would alert consumers when their personal information appears in Google Search. After nearly a year, Google has officially begun rolling out notifications when your personal information appears online.
When Google first introduced the “Results About You” feature, users were required to explicitly search for their information online and then request that it be removed. However, even if your details are removed from Google Search, there is no means to determine if they appear in a new search result.
Google has now simplified this procedure, as you only need to search for your information once from the ‘Results About You’ dashboard. Once completed, Google will actively monitor whether these details appear in any Google Search results. When a user’s confidential data appears on Google, push notifications will be sent to their Android and iOS devices. Update your Google App to the most recent version if you do not see this option.

Users can request removal of the notification by clicking on the notification. Google is also enabling SafeSearch results globally to ensure that only secure images are displayed in Google Search results.
Note that these notices are currently only available in the United States. Google says it is working to make this capability available worldwide. As this functionality entails the scanning and processing of personal information, Google will be required to comply with the local data protection regulations of the country in which it wishes to implement it.
Google has also implemented measures to prevent doxing, in which images of confidential information such as identity documents, financial information, credit card numbers, and signatures are tracked. Such images and files will be excluded from Google Search results.
Google SafeSearch will now obscure explicit images and photographs. Users will be warned before such images are displayed. Google will also allow you to request the removal of your own explicit images if they appear on other websites after being uploaded by you and then deleted.
Once a termination request has been submitted, it is typically processed within 72 hours. Google will notify you of the status of your request via the Gmail address you registered with. Google does not charge consumers to utilise this feature.
