The West Bengal government has extended an invitation to agitating junior doctors for a meeting aimed at resolving the ongoing protests tied to the alleged rape and murder of a woman medic.
In response to the medics’ earlier email, the meeting is scheduled for 6 PM on Wednesday at the state secretariat, with a preferred delegation size of 12-15 members. It remains unconfirmed whether Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will chair the meeting.
The junior doctors have insisted that the entire discussion be live-streamed and have continued their 33-day strike, demanding justice and the removal of senior health officials. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been tasked with probing the incident.
